VISA REQUIREMENTS

Travel Document

A valid travel document (minimum six month of validity before the expiration date): Passport or other travel Document.

Travel Confirmation

A confirmed or unconfirmed round-trip ticket or a letter from a travel agency.

Passport Photos

Two recent colored passport-sized photos (Please staple the photos on the forms).

For Tourists

Proof of hotel reservation(s);

For Official Business

A letter from the government/company.

For Visitors

An invitation letter by family members or friends.

Yellow Fever (YF) Vaccine

A copy of a yellow fever vaccine certificate.

Prepaid Return Envelope

A valid travel document (minimum six month of validity before the expiration date): Passport or other travel Document.

VISA FEES
  1. Ninety (90) US $ : Single/Multiple entry visa (visa allowing a single/multiple entry in Burundi, valid for up to 90 days);
  2. Forty (40) US $ : Transit visa ( visa allowing a short stop over up to 48 hours);

 

VISA PROCESSING TIME

Standard Processing Time : 7 days after the receipt of the application.

BUSINESS HOURS

1. Office hours:

  • Monday through Thursday from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM;
  • Fridays from 9.00 AM to 2.00 PM

2. Public Hours:

  • Drop off : 10.00 AM – 4.00 PM
  • Pick Up : 1.00 PM – 4.00 PM

N.B. : All applicants must provide an active e-mail address and phone number to facilitate communication.

VISA EXEMPTION

Countries listed below are exempted from visa application:

  • Democratic Republic of Congo;
  • Rwanda,
  • Uganda,
  • Tanzania,
  • Kenya.

However, nationals from countries exempted from visa application need to have a valid passport issued by their respective countries.
